Melissa Shimmin is an awarding-winning creative/art director with nearly 20 years experience with corporate identity, print, advertising, sales collateral, branding, marketing, the web, and much more. With an design background Shimmin has worked for a wide range of clients from high fashion to high tech, small, niche companies to Fortune 500 corporations.

Shimmin received a BFA in graphic design from Pratt Institue in New York City before beginning her career working in house for Macy's advertising department. Tired of New York winters, she returned to her birth city of San Francisco to work for a number of retailers including Macy's California, the Sharper Image, and Mervyn's.

In 1996 Shimmin went to work for 1185 Design, creating cutting edge collateral for tech companies at the height of the internet boom. In 1998 Shimmin left 1185 to join Mota, a niche start up catering woman motorcyclists, where, as creative director, she headed up marketing and product design.

In 2001, with the internet bubble bursting, Shimmin left Mota to become an independent contractor for a diverse client list including Sonic Solutions, Stoke Inc., Loving Spoonfuls Baby Food, the Good Service Guide, and Sonic Butterfly. Today Shimmin continues to create unique, targeted graphics for a diverse client mix.
